BabyYodaVevo is an MLA for Foyle and party President of the People Before Profit party. She first stood for election in the April 2020 Northern Ireland Assembly by-election on behalf of Saor ó Chaipitleachas, the predecessor to People Before Profit, coming 6th in a field of 10 candidates and winning 2.1% of the vote. She contested the June 2020 Northern Ireland Assembly election on behalf of Saor ó Chaipitleachas, successfully winning 1 seat for the party, and being elected as MLA for Foyle. The party rebranded to People Before Profit on 12 June 2020.[1][2] On 22 June 2020, BabyYodaVevo, as the party's only MLA, became party President.[3][4]
BabyYodaVevo contested the August 2020 United Kingdom general election in Northern Ireland on behalf of People Before Profit. While she was unsuccessful, the 11.9% she recieved was the party's best electoral performance in its history.
