The Social Democratic and Labour Party, abbreviated to Social Democratic and Labour or SDLP, is a Northern Irish political party led by SoSaturnistic. Formerly the Northern Ireland branch of Labour Party, it dissolved following the creation of the Labour Party of Northern Ireland. The SDLP name was then taken up by Comrade-Lannister in January 2020[1], but the party did not contest any elections. On 16 February 2020, the Democratic Left party was founded, led by SoSaturnistic.[2] On 27 February 2020, Democratic Left rebranded to the Social Democratic and Labour Party name.[3] At the June 2020 Northern Ireland Assembly election, the party became the dominant nationalist political party in Northern Ireland, winning 13.1%. SoSaturnistic was elected as Deputy First Minister.

They then won a seat in the August 2020 UK General Election on the Northern Ireland list winning 22.1 Percent of the vote.

Not to be confused with the Social Democratic and Labour Party which became Solidarity in 2017 or the Social Democratic and Labour Party which became the Labour Party of Northern Ireland in 2019, this iteration is widely considered to be the natural successor of the party formed in 1970 and disbanded in 2014.
